I can't believe this is actually a thing.
You guys shouldn't encourage people to crop copyrighted work
and not even ask permission or credit the actual artist who took hours/days to create such artwork.

Are you guys not ashamed? siiiigh TAKE IT AWAAAAY

What exactly is a "render"? You mean vector right?
erdo-dp Featured By Owner Apr 2, 2014   Digital Artist
A render is a term used to describe a picture that is cropped with the purpose of use it like digital stickers in digital collages and compositions.

The 99% of time a render is made from copyrighted artwork and without the permission of the artist.

If you think that this thing is horrible, you're right, but nobody cares and nobody can do anything to stop it, so this people without talent can continue ruining the artwork of others.

I did mention vectors right? Honestly I couldn't give a damn. Art is art and the only hard truth about art is that art is subjective. I use 3D models ripped out of video games both with and without permission (though some companies are more lenient than others and valve doesn't really care that models are being ripped and compatibility-edited from games incompatible with gmod like DOTA2, portal and L4D2 and Sega outright turns it's back on a completely illegal Phantasy Star Online private server and I'm sure there are anime artists and production studios out there who are the same way about their own work, even if Hasbro is against them, Studio B/DHX seems to be completely fine with all fanworks, including vectors and 3D models of their intellectual properties),

What I do is literally no different.

I'd say what I do has more potential, but it's more of an issue of most people wasting the potential. With decent enough graphic design skills I'm sure one could do amazing things with your so-called "renders"(seriously, I looked it up, and I see no sign of that being what that word means)...

Though to be frank, there's a lot of people out there who will probably never learn to properly use things like gmod, MikuMikuDance and SFM right(I've been improving with gmod myself and learning the ins and outs of MMD, but the whole posing thring is something that may forever be a challenge to me, especially in gmod because I can't use ragdoll mover with my middle mouse button broken).

When it comes to art, it's not an issue of whether a resource is good or bad, but what people do with it. But that's just how I see it. Like I said, art is subjective, and there's more than plenty who won't see either these, or what I do as art.

Though I should clarify that I only see these and vectors as art resources, whereas 3D model making is a proper art, though vectors come close enough to being actual art I guess...
